Facial peeling is one of the most effective treatments for rejuvenating your skin. Whether you're looking to reduce hyper-pigmentation, minimise wrinkles, or combat acne, peels like the Sano Skin Peel can transform your complexion, making them an essential part of a long term skin health routine. At Sano Studio, our 30-minute peel facial stimulates collagen and new cell formation, leaving your skin looking youthful and vibrant.
What is a Facial Peel?
A facial peel is simply when a professional strength skincare product is applied to the surface of the skin, exfoliating the skin and encouraging new cell growth. Professional peels, like the Sano Skin Peel, provide deeper exfoliation by removing dead skin cells and targeting hyper pigmentation, wrinkles and acne leaving more dramatic visible results compared to at-home treatments.
Types of Facial Peeling
Mechanical Peels
Mechanical exfoliators are technically not peels. They involve a physical exfoliation using scrubs like our AlumierMD manual microdermabrasion to buff away the surface levels of the skin, removing dead and rough skin. They are most often used in clinic treatments as an exfoliating preparation prior to a chemical peel. The combination of mechanical and chemical peels provide deeper and more long-lasting visible results and benefits.
Chemical Peels
The Sano Skin Peel is a professional chemical peel that uses a combination of targeted ingredients like AHA’s and BHA’s to improve skin texture, reduce the appearance of scarring, and combat wrinkles and acne with clinically proven results. The most common types of peel you will can come across are:
Enzymatic Peels - A revitalising enzyme peel contains both alpha hydroxy acids and fruit enzymes to exfoliate dead skin cells and promote skin renewal.
Alpha-Hydroxy Acids (AHAs): Mild acids that exfoliate the surface of the skin, ideal for brightening and improving texture.
Beta-Hydroxy Acids (BHAs): Salicylic acid is perfect for acne-prone skin as it helps reduce inflammation and unclogs pores.
TCA (Trichloroacetic Acid) Peels: A deeper peel used for addressing wrinkles, pigmentation, and deep scarring. TCA peels tend to be used in medical dermatology to treat more severe skin conditions.
The Sano Skin Peel will be tailored between our two peel options and this will be dependent upon your skin type and concerns, following an in depth consultation with your Sano skin expert.
Radiant 30 - A gentle multifunctional alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) skin peel resurfacing peel containing pure lactic acid to decrease the visible signs of ageing by stimulating collagen production and reducing discoloration by increasing cell turnover.
Radiant 20/10 - A powerful combination of alpha and beta-hydroxy acid resurfacing peel that both rejuvenates the skin and reduces the signs of acne.
As your skin adjusts to the peeling treatments with regular ongoing sessions we then start introducing further active products which penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin post peel, enhancing the results each time. These include our professional medical grade products like our Vitamin A boost, a product containing a high potency blend of retinol and retinyl palmitate, making it an ideal boost for mature or sun damaged skin.

At-Home Peels vs. Professional Peels
While at-home peels can provide mild surface exfoliation, professional peel treatments like the Sano Skin Peel always deliver deeper and longer-lasting results. Professional peels are customised to individual skin concerns, providing more significant improvements in skin texture, tone, and radiance. Using at-home products between appointments can also increase the benefits (AKA better, longer-lasting results and therefore more from your investment). Arriving with clinic-ready skin means it’s prepped for anything — ready to respond to active ingredients and your Sano skin experts magic touch.
How Much Do Chemical Peels Cost?
More advanced peels like our Sano Skin Peel are priced according to their medical grade ingredients and effectiveness as well as the results they deliver. They can be offered as a stand alone 30 min treatment like the Sano Skin Peel making it slightly cheaper or can be combined within one of our results driven facials for a longer, slightly more expensive but more relaxing experience. Professional treatments, though more expensive, are a worthwhile investment in long-term skin health.
